Mikautadze Dance Theatre

Mikautadze Dance Theatre celebrates dance with varied styles and music selections!

The event will feature several premieres and a live music performance by collaborator, composer, and musician, Rob Foster. Rob will be featured playing flute with music director David Mikautadze on guitar, and will also improvise a prologue, setting the scene with a character played by Elizabeth Mikautadze, to his composition Unforeseen Vision. The re-staging of Suite No. 1, now with the addition of Suite No.2 completing the work, unfolds with a fantastical score by Igor Stravinsky. A dance in three movements set to a J. S. Bach sonata for violin and harpsichord is a whirlwind of movement and beauty with inspired costumes by Jeanne Pendleton. Several solos and a duet highlight the principal dancers of MDT. Emily Craig, Emily Keisler, Annika Kroeker, Maya Radike, and Elizabeth Mikautadze will showcase their individuality and artistry, with costumes by Jeanne Pendleton and lighting design by Corey Lee to add to the mix. Fresh and upbeat choreography by Emily Craig and Maya Radike will have you smiling and wanting to move! Last but not least, we have a quirky and dark work, Transmutation, featuring MDT and community dancers. Get ready to see visions beyond your everyday realities and hear music that will move you!
